But, Benjamin's character is a merger of introversion and Walter Mitty fantasies, making the title a kind of symbolic description of the hero. If you think that's stretching things to make a point, especially such a feeble one, I agree. With a start like that, somehow it doesn't seem surprising that the movie turns out to be equally feeble.

SEATS ON SALE AT BOX OFFICE or AT ANY ASSOCIATED THEATRE flashes of cleverness, wit and intelligence. "The Steagle," unfortunately, has nothing redeeming of this nature. It is a comedy without a sense of humor. BENJAMIN'S trivially ineffective character evokes neither sympathy nor amusement, only indifference. Additionally, the movie is marked by a rarity.

It is uninterestingly cast. The supporting cast includes so many unpersonable performers that one becomes appalled at the banality of the hero's imagination, if these are only dream figures. When a character has some potential interest, however small, such as the aging cowboy star played by Chill Wills, the performance is so exaggerated as to be self-defeating. Cloris Leachman, so Impressive in the Kings Court's "The Last Picture Show," is unable to evoke anything but ennui as Benjamin's colorless wife. We've all seen movies which have been called -j comedies.

"The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight" and "Never Too Late" are two examples. "The Steagle" is a no-joke comedy. nr Jr2 MiVC The stewardesses Jit 1 Ik I have found xplicit Yfl sJ rA laws ol Denmark ti rC '-4Vf 7r VkV you have the Manor SQ.
