Usually they come in on Christmas Eve, but this year their $256 donation arrived sooner because "we got paid earlier than usual," remarked Joseph Konrad, a spokesman for the group.

And on Monday, another annual contribution came in -from National Valve and Manufacturing in Lawrenceville. Last year, the employes decided to contribute to the Goodfellows rather than send inner-office Christmas cards and the company matched their total. That policy, has continued and their check for $898 will go directly toward the purchase of additional new toys to meet the everpanding needs of the Goodfellows' Toy Fund. Agnew. His office has repudiated as unsanctioned the group's fund-raising efforts toward an Agnew presidential candidacy in 1976. Early Birds member John B. Shepherd said he mailed only one letter, to a "wealthv" friend of Agnew, and that the letter apparently had been reforred to the vice president's office. Shepherd said that although the letter spoke of a goal of raising $5 to $7 million by 1974, his intent was to ask for participation in the group, not for donations.

He said he and four other persons organized the Early Birds last summer. LEROUX imagine how Max fireplug in West Park, dog up a wall. And firemen might feel if a cold and snowy Northside.
