Schacht, Edward Schacht, and Clara Schacht. For 67 years, Sr. Mary Barbara ministered as a Sister of St. Francis in many capacities; namely, as an elementary teacher, grade school principal, director of Mt. Alvernia Day Center, business office bookkeeper, receptionist, and most importantly, prayer ministry.

Over the years, sister was known for her gentle and compassionate manner, showing an interest in the happenings around her, especially in the lives of her students and fellow co-workers. Her caring ways were very evident when she visited the sick in the health care unit, and most especially when she herself began to diminish physically. Up until the end, sister displayed a calm and patient demeanor which edified all who were responsible for her care. Visitation at the MT. www.dalessandroltd.com Send condolences SCHLICHT JEANNE LANG Age 87, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on February 21, 2015, at 2:45 a.m. at the Butler Memorial Hospital. She was born November 29, 1927, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Andrew Frederick Lang and Ottilie (Eckstein) Lang. Mrs. Schlicht was a graduate of Carnegie Institute of Technology, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in fabric science and was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority.

She began working for the Mellon Institute doing research for the Albany Felt Company, which was a producer of wool uniforms used by the Pittsburgh Pirates and other MLB teams. She married Charles Joseph "Chuck" Schlicht on September 15, 1951, and moved to Butler. Jeanne worked in Kindergarten teaching at Trinity Lutheran Church before it became part of the school system. She was instrumental in starting the pre-school program at Middlesex Presbyterian Church. Jeanne was also the bookkeeper for the Butler- Shearer Hardware Store on Main Street that she and her husband owned and operated.

Jeanne was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church, where she was actively involved in the Covenant Cupboard Ministry. She was a member of the Home Economics Club, two Bridge clubs and was a former member of the Intermediate Club. Jeanne was a 55-year volunteer at Butler Memorial Hospital, a 20-year volunteer at Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center and was active in the American Association of University Women. She loved to play Bridge and enjoyed sewing, knitting, and world-traveling. Mrs.

Schlicht is survived by two sons, C. Andrew Schlicht of Titusville, PA and Peter F. Schlicht and his wife, Anne, of Sewickley, PA; one daughter, Lisa A. McPeak and her husband, Bart, of Federal Way, WA; four granddaughters, Audrey Jo Schlicht of Chicago, IL, Kerry Beth Schlicht of Eugene, OR, Celena V. McPeak and Chloe J.

McPeak, both of Federal Way, WA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Joseph "Chuck" Schlicht, who passed away November 4, 2010; two sisters, Audrey Neu and Margaretha Neu; and a daughter-in-law, Tracey Jo Schlicht. Friends will be received Tuesday, February 24, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the THOMPSON MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 East North Street, Butler, PA. Age 76, of Fox Chapel, formerly of Forest Hills, passed away peacefully with family at his side on Sunday, February 22, 2015. Son of the late Murt and Margaret Shaughnessy; beloved husband of 53 years to Carol J. Shaughnessy; loving father of Maureen Block of San Rafael, CA and Michael (Amy) Shaughnessy of Baldwin; cherished grandfather of Nathaniel and Declan Block and Emma and Maeve Shaughnessy; brother of Eileen (late Pat) Connelly and the late Murt Shaughnessy; also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. Dr. Shaughnessy was a 1956 graduate of St.

Vincent Preparatory School and received the Hall of Fame award for his athletic and scholastic achievement. He was a 1960 graduate of St. Vincent College. He graduated in 1965 from the University of Pittsburgh Medical School. Dr.

Shaughnessy practiced at Suburban Urologic Associates at Forbes Regional Hospital, Jefferson Hospital, Braddock Hospital, Allegheny General Hospital and St. Francis Medical Center. He was on the Board of Directors at Allegheny County Medical Society and the Tri-State Lithotriptic Institute, and was past President of Urologic Association of Pennsylvania. Dr. Shaughnessy was a member of the Phi Rho Sigma Medical Society and a Fourth degree Knight of Columbus, West Mifflin-Duquesne Council.

He embraced life and his profession to the fullest. Many will remember his sense of humor and how he always had a story to tell. His greatest love was spending time with family and friends. He resided in Delray Beach for the past several years.

She will live forever in our hearts as one of the most influential people in our lives. Missed and loved by her children and grandchildren. SMITH DONALD FRED Age 91, passed away on January 22, 2015.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy D. Smith (Cuddy); and leaves behind four children, Noriam (Gary) Stockman of Parker, CO, Dylan T. (Julia) Smith of St. Croix, USVI, Frederick P. Smith of New Haven, CT, and L.
