Mr. Herrmann, 70, died Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Sara Herrmann, and two sisters, Mrs. Willa Arthurs and Mrs. Marie Jones, both of Pittsburgh.

Wood was appointed to the USW national staff in 1936, assigned to organize unions on Pittsburgh's South Side. He later was transferred to Beaver Valley region, where he retired in 1966. Surviving are his widow Ada; two sons, Lt. Col. (ret.) Manuel Wood Jr.

of San Antonio, Texas, and Maj. Philip M. Wood of Fort Riley, three daughters, Mrs. William J. Thompson of Beaver Falls, Mrs.

(Red) Edwards, retired Post-Gazette reporter, died yesterday in St. Francis General Hospital. Edwards, 72, of 179 Saxonburg retired as Post-Gazette Criminal Court reporter last Dec. 31 after 36 years of service. During his career, he worked as a police reporter and for a short period was a general assignment reporter.

Mr. Edwards once left the Post-Gazette to work as an expediter in the steel industry in 1937 and served as an Army Air Corps photographer during World War II, receiving a severe arm wound from enemy fire. He returned to the paper in 1945. Surviving are his widow, Nadine four sisters, Mrs. Anna Keim of St.

Petersburg, Mrs. Mary Cutler, Mrs. Clara Weinheimer and Mrs. Margaret Hartner, and a brother, James. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 tonight and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.

Charles Gothe Charles Gothe, retired printing executive and founder of the Day and Night Press Inc. downtown, died yesterday at his home, 1416 Potomac Dormont. Mr. Gothe, 75, was a 50-year member of Lodge 45 a member of the Pennsylvania Consistory and Scottish Rite, Valley of Pittsburgh; Syria Temple; AAONMS: Islam Grotto; and Dormont Presbyterian Church; and was a Masonic veteran. Surviving are three sons, Charles S.

and Donald both of Pittsburgh, and Robert A. of Kennerdale; two daughters, Mrs. Joyce G. Gingrich of Altoona and Mrs. Twyla G.

He was a native of Austria. Surviving are three sons, Joseph Louis and Edward six daughters, Mrs. Catherine Cain, Mrs. Frances Jessy, Mrs. Mathilda Vogrin, Mrs.
