Presidential certificates for outstanding community achievement will be presented to the veterans at a ceremony that will take place at 12:30 p.m. in the building's courtyard. Mayor Richard Caliguiri will present five certificates, as will the county commissioners.

The ceremony will be a part of "Vietnam Veterans Week" proclaimed ly President Carter. In addition to Caliguiri and Commissioners Thomas J. Foerster, Jim Flaherty and Robert N. Peirce others participating in the ceremony will include U.S. Sen.

John Heinz and representatives of the Veterans Administration, the Federal Executive Board and the VA Medical Centers. Caliguiri will present certificates to: Daniel D. Berry, 28, of Green Tree, a squad leader with the 101st Airborne Infantry who received wounds required above-the-knee amputation of his right leg. A graduate of Allegheny County Community College who earned an associate degree in science, he is vice president of Pittsburgh Steelwheelers, a wheelchair athletic group. He is also a ski instructor at Children's Hospital.

Edward J. Bialobok of Uptown, who sustained severe shrapnel injuries to his legs and stomach. He enrolled at Duquesne University and became a starting player on Duquesne's Iron Dukes football team for three years. Employed by the state as a disabled veterans employment assistant, he visits and counsels incarcerated vets at Western Penitentiary. John A.

Biedrcycki Jr. of Corliss, who served with the Army in Korea, is now a social studies teacher at Lang-ley High School, where he also is an assistant baseball coach. He is the only Vietnam-era commander of VFW Vesle Post 418 in M'cKces Rocks, and is the youngest commander of the Allegheny County Council. He also serves as an adviser on veterans affairs to U.S. Rep.

Doug Walgren. Amos Lawson, 28, of the North Side, is a disabled Vietnam veteran who is a veterans benefits counselor at the Veterans Administration's regional office here. He has been active in the Hill House Association, promoting community involvement among youth. He was the recipient of the Hill House's Outstanding Community Service Award for 1978 and its Volunteer Recognition Award for 1978-79. Michael J.

Walsh of Crafton, who suffered disabling injuries as a platoon leader in Vietnam. He is a national service officer for the DAV, and is commander of DAV Post 33 in Carnegie. Walsh is secretary-treasurer of the Pittsburgh Steelwheelers. During the summer, he coaches Little League baseball. The county commissioners will present certificates to: Robert "Rocky" Bleier, 33, who, despite suffering injuries in Vietnam that required extensive surgery, returned to the Pittsburgh Steelers in one of the most notable tomebacks in professional sports.

Bleier was selected as one of the 10 Outstanding Young Men by the U.S. Jaycees this year. Albert Burlikowski of McKeesport, a disabled Vietnam War veteran who is now employed as a DAV employment assistant at its McKeesport office. He has been responsible for placing 400 vets in full-time jobs since April, 1977. Burlikowski has been instrumental in developing a program of daily radio broadcasts that inform employers in the McKeesport area of veterans seeking William H.

Herry of McKeesport, a disabled Marine veteran, is an employment assistant who also has placed more than 400 vets in full-time work. He serves as public relations officer for AMVETS Post No. 8, McKeesport, and is co-director of supportive services to the handicapped at the West Mifflin campus of Community College. George V. Lewis of McKeesport is a Navy recruiter with the Pittsburgh detachment.

He was a hospital corpsman in Vietnam. As a registered emergency medical technician, he has conducted many first-aid classes for various youth groups, and serves as deputy commander of the 33rd District of the American Legion, Bryan R. Myers II of Port Vue, an Army combat veteran of Vietnam, is commander of the American Legion's Port Vue Memorial Post 447. A volunteer firemen, Myers and several of his colleagues were credited with saving the life of Port Vue Fire Chief Howard Judy by keeping a constant spray of water on him until he could be freed from burning de- bris. The Shaler Area High School Stage Ensemble will perform at the ceremony.
