Mahler a retired production clerk at Westinghouse Electric Corp. in East Pittsburgh, died yesterday at Braddock General Hospital following a heart attack at his home. Mr. Mahler, 75, of Locust Street, Braddock Hills, worked for the company for 37 years before retiring in 1974. Mr.

Mahler was a 1931 graduate of Duquesne University. He was a member of the Westinghouse Clerks Association, secretary of Braddock Moose Lodge 57, and a volunteer with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program at Forbes Metropolitan Health Center, Surviving are his wife, Melrose Shephard Mahler, a daughter, Carol Ceanfaglione; a stepson, Richard Shephard of California; two stepdaughters, Shirley Ledwith of Ohio and Suzanne Cannon of Forest Hills; a brother, Aloysius F. of Regent Square; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Thomas L.

Nied Funeral Home 7441 Washington Swissvale. A mass of Christian burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow in St Helen Church, East Pittsburgh. Burial will be in Braddock Catholic Cemetery, Braddock Hills. Arthur M.

Syroth Arthur M. Syroth, a retired Pittsburgh sales representative for Even Flo Products Co. of Ravenna, Ohio, died yesterday of a heart attack at North Hills Passavant Hospital. Mr. Syroth, 69, of Birch Court, Ross, retired from Even Flo after more than 33 years.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of McMurray Lodge 807, Scottish Rite, and Syria Temple. Surviving are his wife, Helen and a sister, Margaret F. Gallagher of Pittsburgh. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 tonight and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the Bock Funeral Home, 1500 Mount Royal Glenshaw, where services will be held at 1 p.m.

Wednesday. Burial will be in Union Dale Cemetery, North Side. Sister Mary Felix Clarey, 89, a member of the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity at Seton Hill for 71 years, died Saturday of a heart attack at Jeannette District Memorial Hospital, Westmoreland County, where she had been since breaking her hip two weeks ago. Sister Mary Felix, a native of New Kensington, Westmoreland County, joined the order in 1913 from St Canice Parish in Knoxville. She earned a bachelor of science degree in education from Duquesne University in 1940.

The schools where she taught included Resurrection in Brookline; St Michael in Pitcairn; and St Edward in Her-minie, Westmoreland County, where she also served as vice principal. She was the sisters' servant, a local superior, at the former Pittsburgh Hospital from 1953 to 1960. She visited the sick and elderly while living at St James Convent in Wilkinsburg from 1969 to 1975. After retiring in 1982, Sister Mary Felix moved to Assumption Hall in Greensburg, Westmoreland County. Friends will be received from 1 to 8 p.m.

today and from 1 to 7 p.m. tomorrow at Assumption Hall on Mount Thor Road, Greensburg. A mass of Christian burial will be offered at 7 p.m. tomorrow in Assumption Hall Chapel. Burial will be in the Sisters' Cemetery at Seton Hill.

Emmett D. Smiley Emmett D. Smiley, a retired employee of Exxon died Saturday of cancer at Washington Hospital, Washington County. Mr. Smiley, 71, of 607 Main Bentleyville, Washington County, is survived by his wife, Helen Shaner Smiley; a daughter, Marilyn Roth of Chelmsford, and three sis-.

ters, Geraldine Post of Waynesburg, Greene County, Marie Morgan of Bentleyville, and Audrey Williams of Marianna, Washington County. There will be no visitation. Services will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow in the Greenlee Funeral Home, Bentleyville. Burial will follow in Chartiers Cemetery, Carnegie.

The yawn "had been waiting for a long time to come out," Ms. Dangerfield said yesterday as Thanksgiving break ended.

12 die in weekend accidents on state roads 3 hurt, 2 held in shooting United Press International Death took a heavy toll on Penn- sylvania roadways during the long Thanksgiving weekend. A survey by United Press showed at least 12 people were killed in Pennsylvania traffic accidents during the holiday period, which began at 6 p.m. Wednesday and ended at midnight yesterday. Four of the fatalities occurred yesterday. An Ohio man was killed yesterday when the car in which he was riding crashed into a median on interstate 79 near the Grove City exit, police said.

David Morgan, 39, of Toledo, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 6 p.m. accident. Police said the driver of the car, Morgan's son, Todd, 18, of Sylvania, Ohio, was not injured Carl B. Smith 20, of Topton, Berks County, was killed and his wife was injured seriously about 2 a.m. in Longswamp, Berks County, when their speeding car skidded across a rural road and knocked over a utility pole, police said.

Smith's wife, Rhonda, was taken by helicopter to Lehigh Valley Hospital, where she was being treated for a broken pelvis and arm and facial lacerations. Lena Siers, 72, of East Berlin, Adams County, was killed and a man was injured yesterday when their car slammed into a utility pole, shearing it in half, police said. Ms. Siers was pronounced dead at the scene about 3 p.m. on state Route 194 in Hamilton.

She was a passenger in a car driven by John Gruver, 76, also of East Berlin. Francis Zagorski, 38, of Douglass-ville, Berks County, was struck and holiday weekend. In the worst single accident, seven men died in a car that slammed into a tree at 100 mph in the Alabama town of Mcintosh. The accident Saturday was called the worst in the town's history. The only survivor was listed in stable condition at the University of South Alabama Medical Center.

In Montana, a Rimrocks Stages bus skidded off an icy road near Helena and overturned, killing three elderly women. A United Press International count showed at least 382 people died in accidents nationwide, including 34 in Texas, 33 in California and 32 in Florida. The National Safety Council had estimated up to 500 people would die and between 17,000 and 20,000 would suffer disabling injuries during the long weekend. killed by a car about 5:10 p.m. yesterday as he walked with his wife along state Route 662 in Amity about 2,000 feet from his home.

Delien, 37, of Glenshaw, died Saturday morning when the four-wheel drive vehicle he was driving crashed into a utility pole. Delien's wife, Barbara, was admitted to Allegheny General Hospital in stable condition. Nationwide, nearly 400 people died in traffic accidents during the politan Health Center, Wilkinsburg. Kevin J. Robinson, 20, of 1353 Montezuma East Liberty, the alleged gunman, is in County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bond.

Otto Owens, 22, of 1629 Westmoreland East Liberty, was arraigned on a conspiracy charge and released. Both men face hearings Dec. 4 before Monroeville District Justice Eugene Yarnel. Three men were wounded and two were arrested in connection with a shootout in the parking lot of the Holiday House, a Monroeville nightclub. The most seriously injured, Ramon Dixon, is in critical condition in Allegheny General Hospital.
