Later, by the development and production of the turbine generator, Westinghouse opened the way to the application for electricity in the marine field and has helped greatly to bring electric marinp t-qmpmem to its present state of efficiency. For the United States naw uv. inghouse has equipped with nromil- sion and auxiliary machinery the modern dreadnaughts Colorado and Tennessee, each of asnnn horsepower, many scout cruisers and destroyers, colliers and about 20 submarines. In addition to these navy vessels Westinghouse has equipped with propulsion or auxiliary equipment such typespf ships for the merchant marine as ocean liners cargo carriers, tankers, ferries, tugs! nver towboats and yachts.
